Gwersyllt Open Access Playscheme
“Play is one of the ways that children learn about themselves, the people around them their environment and the community in which they live.” (WAG Play Policy, 2002)
Wrexham
County Borough Council’s Play Development Team and Gwersyllt Community
Council have worked together to establish an open access playscheme for
Gwersyllt’s local community.
The open access playscheme is free for all children aged 8 – 15 years to attend. Children can attend or leave at their own leisure, and are not committed to staying at the scheme.
The scheme is staffed by qualified playworkers who create a rich play environment on site for children to have access to various play opportunities such as Den Building, Water Slides, Arts and Crafts, Sports, Woodwork and Fun and Games Activities.
The Playscheme’s will run in all school holidays except the Christmas period. The scheme will run for four hours per day from 12 pm – 4 pm over five days per week, Monday to Friday at various locations across Bryn Alyn School, Bradley Fields and on First Avenue.
Remember to keep an eye out for posters across the community and information on this website advertising of the playscheme. If you would like to be involved or would just like some more information regarding the playscheme then please contact Wrexham County Borough Councils Play Development Team on 01978 340740 or alternatively email play@wrexham.gov.uk.
